Working to keep your family safe

Information for Schools and Educators

Courses Offered

The Chapter offers several programs to schools. Some of these programs are well suited to being taught during the school day, and we are happy to order materials and curriculum for teachers. A great time to implement these programs is during health and safety weeks to promote awareness of a certain health and safety topics. We will work with you to figure out what is best for your school and students and send an instructor to your school. Facing Fear – Grades K-12

This curriculum gives students experience in talking about frightening events that they hear or see reported in the media and hear discussed at school and home. In the aftermath of tragic events children can feel overwhelmed with concerns of safety, security and trust. By finding positive avenues for expressing their concerns and need for involvement, initial negative reactions to the event may begin to diminish. Working to guide children in positive directions can be an important aspect of the healing process.

  • Provides information on how the media plays a role in conveying news and how to be able to discern facts as reported in media coverage.
