Community Services
The Chapter provides health, safety and prepardness information
to the public through health fairs and community events. We also
work to identify local needs and to develop programming that meets
those needs. Here are a few of the things we are working on currently:
Mom? Dad? Can We Talk? – a course for parents
of 9 to 13-year-olds, focusing on parent-child communication about
sexual health and risk behaviors.
Safe at College – materials designed to give first year
students nonjudgmental, useful information about college life.
Topics include healthy eating, safety on campus, sexual health,
dealing with stress, drugs
and alcohol, basic first aid and more.
Youth Leadership Programs – promote leadership, communication,
conflict resolution and
decision making skills, while emphasizing the importance of helping
others and making the community a better place.
Heritage Project – an effort to preserve our history, celebrate our
past and tell our story to the community through Red Cross historical artifacts.
