| 1927 | The Red Cross played an important part in flood relief to stricken Vermonters following the state's most disastrous flood. |
| 1930 | The Chittenden County Chapter inaugurated its first aid and lifesaving program. |
| 1949 | The Chapter accepted the challenge to become the center chapter for establishing a Red Cross blood program in Vermont and Northern New Hampshire. Funds were raised to erect the original blood center building on Mansfield Avenue. |
| 1950 | The blood center building was dedicated. |
| 1956 | A second floor was added to the original blood center building and it became the chapter headquarters. |
| 1973 | The LaCharite property on Mansfield Avenue was purchased and remodeled for use as chapter headquarters. |
| 1976 | A new blood center building was dedicated on North Prospect Street. |
| 1984 | Red Cross emergency response teams respond to the Amtrak train derailment in Williston. |
| 1987 | The Northern Vermont Chapter is given a disaster van from the American National Red Cross. |
| 1989 | The Northern Vermont Chapter merges with the Caledonia/Lower Essex Chapter to improve Red Cross service delivery. |
| 1991 | As part of the national organization's move to transform the Red Cross blood services, the chapter transferred its governance responsibility to a new Board of Directors for the blood program. |
| 1994 | Refurbished chapter headquarters were unveiled after completion of major renovations following water damage to the premises. |
| 1996 | The Northern Vermont Chapter expanded to cover eight counties with the merger of the Orleans/Upper Essex Chapter. |
| 1998 | The Ice Storm was one of three major disasters that the chapter faced in its 80th year. |
