Blood Donation Center
The need for blood remains constant. A safe and available blood supply relies on volunteer blood
donors willing to give for patients in need. Every day, thousands of patients
in area hospitals must rely on the generosity of blood donors.
The American Red Cross holds blood drives in communities throughout New England.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more and
be in good health. Donors may give blood every eight weeks.

Did you know that a unit of blood is transfused in the U.S. every two seconds?
Or that 95% of people who are eligible never give blood?
Since blood cannot be manufactured, the only way to ensure that there
is enough blood for patients in need is for caring people like you
to give
blood regularly. A person is eligible to donate blood every 56 days
and there are many opportunities to give. The American Red Cross
has been collecting
blood in New England for over 50 years at Red Cross Donor Centers
and at corporate and community blood drives.
Blood is desperately needed to save lives. We urge you to give blood
regularly. For more information on giving blood or for blood drive
locations, contact
the American Red Cross Blood Services, New England Region at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE
or visit online at www.newenglandblood.org/vermont/schedule.
